Thirteenth Day of Christmas

The Thirteenth Day of Christmas

Angel Jar

Items used:
mason jar
glitter paint
glitter
angel figure

I love angels so I fixed up a spot for this one. First I painted the inside of the jar with two coats of red glitter paint. For the top of the jar I used the red glitter. Be sure to glue your lid together because they come in two pieces.
I used some silver slitter on my angel, and put a light in the jar to light it up. Its just one of those little color changing ones that come with water beads.

See you tomorrow for another craft.
Probably a gingerbread house made of clay....

Eleventh Day of Christmas

The Eleventh Day of Christmas Craft

Sun catcher

Items used:
a stick
glass beads
twine

This project I did earlier this year but i wanted to share it because I like it so much. Some day when I have a nice outside flower garden I want to hang it out there.
The first thing I did was find a stick outside that I liked. I then drilled hole in it all the way through. So I could thread the twine through the holes that I drilled.

I threaded the bead onto the twine and tied knots in it.
And then I threaded the strings through the holes.
After I put a string of beads in all the holes I Tied a string to the top to hang it with.
I think it would look cool in a window or something too. I have mine in my art corner for now.

Ninth Day of christmas

The Ninth Day of Christmas Craft

nightlight makeover

Items used:
nightlight
sun catcher paint
Sharpie

After taking the cover off to paint, I started by drawing a pattern on the nightlight with a black sharpie.
I made a simple design. You can make any design you want. I wanted mine to look like stained glass.

After I finished my design with my sharpie, I started to add my paint to different sections. Letting it dry after each color. It didn't take long because it was fast drying paint.

After it was all dry I put the cover back on the nightlight. I think adding a different colored light would be cute too.

Day 10 Craft will probably be something made with polymer clay, I haven't decided what yet....
Till then take care.

Where did summer go?

After a long hot summer, I am so glad to see that fall is here. All the first day of school pictures are being shared. The leaves are starting to turn already, the mornings are cool now. Halloween is just arond the corner and just after that Christmas. So its time to come back to blogging.
The lazy days of summer are over. It really wasn't a lazy summer though. We had a heat wave, no ones grass turned green this year. The corn crops didn't grow. My hubby's plant layed of 20 people because of it, and dropped the night shift. This puts hubby back in the regular work force after being a boss on nights for about 8 years now. And back to days, which he hasn't worked the day shift in about 12 years. Lets just say summer has been rough!

Anyway I have lots of craft ideas to share and many blog posts to come. So stay tuned.
I am opening a "Big Cartel" shop online to sell my clay stuff. I have opened a Red Bubble account to try to sell some of my pictures, and its time to get back to work!!
I want to have more interaction on here! I would love if people started posting. I need many followers. Lets have fun. Lets craft! Lets talk!
I also want to share with you guys some of the blogs or Caring Bridge stories I follow. Some of the people I follow have absolutely heart breaking stories but unbreakable faith. They don't even know me from Adam, but on some days these stories I follow just help, i don't know how because I cant explain it. But they just give me strength...
I have also been waiting on Grand child number 12 to arrive. She will be here any day now. she due in the first week of September.
How was your summer?? Have a nice day :)

March Madness

I can't believe spring is just around the corner. I need to get out of this winter funk. Even though we didn't have a winter, it will still be nice to open the windows and sit on the porch.
I have been working on lots of clay things. I have been making jewelery, boxes, kitchen magnets, light switch covers, just to name a few.
This month I am going to start something new. I will be making a post every day on the weekdays about a different subject.
I want to do some different things so please bear with me while I find my niche, or my blogging style or whatever you call it.
I have some fun stuff planned. I really would like to get some traffic and some comments going. So be ready for some big changes.
Tonight I worked on my first "rose cane" you can find the tutorial I used here. rose tutorial
This is before reducing it.

I'll show you the results tomorrow.
Also I finished my box I was working on. This is also a first. It was an expierement and I got the idea off pintersest. Sandy's creations in clay

Would you believe this is just a little matchbox covered in clay?

Speaking of pintersest... I love it! I am going to using it for most of my inspiration and ideas. How could I not. In case you don't know pintersest is like a bulletin board with all the ideas, pictures, hints, tips, websites, news, movie stars, sports, etc., that you can think of saved on your boards. You can "pin" anything you want and save it where you can find it again. You can show your style, your collections your likes your dislikes... The world is your pintersest! So have fun. If you need an invite send me an email.
Hope everyone had a good day.
~hugs~

Day 22

I love this one! I used an old gourd from Halloween. I covered it in some gold glitter and used a ribbon to hang it. I would have liked to add something to it but nothing looked right. So I left it plain. I also added some silver glitter to the stem.
And I wanted to share a picture of Alessa's Christmas tree. It has butterflies, dragonflies, and hummingbirds on it.

Day 21

Day 21 I used a potpourri ball and covered it with my pink chunky glitter. The ball is from walmart.
There's not a lot to say tonight. My hubby is in the hospital and I'm tired. We have an appointment at the heart Dr. tomorrow morning. Not sure how Christmas is going to go. Got bills to pay. Worried about presents for everyone or lack there of.

Day 19

For day 19 ornament I also used pearl powder on the inside. Then on the outside I made a swirl of green glitter to add some dimension to this ornament. Simple and cute, with red and green.
Tomorrow we have a big day in another town for a hearing test for Rosie. More on that tomorrow. Also Christmas shopping is in order. We don't have any shopping places besides Walmart in our town. So we are taking advantage of our Dr. trip.

Day 18

For day 18 ornament i used my pearl-ex powder. Blue to be exact. I poured it inside the ornament and shook it around until it covered the whole inside of the ornament. Its very pretty and very simple. Its gives off a shimmer that the picture just cant capture.

Day 17

Today I spent time with my family so I did an easy ornament. Pink chunky glitter. I got the glitter at the Dollar Store. They have lots of colors and shapes of glitter to use. I got some more clear glass ornaments so I'm going to have fun with those. I also need to get back to doing my name pictures. I have a list I need to get done.

Day 16

For  day 16 ornament
I covered the ornament in fabric scraps and modge podge.

Then I covered it with brush on glitter paint.

Because I cant make anything without using glitter for some reason. Go figure.

Christmas is getting close. No snow for us so far. I don't like snow so I don't mind! I do like to decorate for the holiday though. I'm not fancy like some people. The week leading up to Christmas is always busy. My Mom is coming to visit this weekend. So we are all getting together for Christmas dinner. Then next friday its back to the heart Dr. for my husband, who is having the same problems he had before. They ended up putting a stent in his heart last time.

Day 15

Only 10 days until Christmas. That means only 10 more ornaments. It also means only 9 shopping days. Yikes! I'm never ready for Christmas. I hope to get my shopping done this weekend.
Day 15 ornament was another plastic ornament which I covered in silver chunky glitter. Then I added some sequins (because I have lots).

Day 14

Wow 11 more day until Christmas. I can't believe it. This year went by so fast. I hope 2012 is a good year for everyone!
For day 14 I used a plastic ornament and green glitter. After it dried I put a ribbon on it and then a plastic snowflake.

Day 13 ornament
Its amazing what you can do with a little glue some red glitter and some bling!

Day 12

Steampunk ornament
I started today's project with a gold plastic ornament

and some steampunk gears

I used some super glue to attach the gears to the ornament

I added coiled wire in different spots

I also added some chain to a few different areas

I also hung some keys off of the chains
